Meet Bailey
Bailey McCoy They/Them
Bailey is a proud graduate of the Metropolitan University of Denver with a B.S. in Exercise Science. They completed their senior capstone internship with the IMAGE group at Colorado University Anschutz campus, assisting with researching the effects of exercise on hormones, metabolism, and aging. Bailey has also cultivated a professional interest in complementary medicine. They frequently seek out practitioners of complementary medicine to ask questions, learn from the masters, and receive treatment.
Bailey is a fierce advocate for using exercise as medicine. Movement can often be the start the healing process and Bailey is passionate about helping people find movement that sparks joy.
Currently Bailey is training for the Colorado Triathlon in Boulder later this year in June. This will be their second tri and first time doing the full Olympic distance. Bailey has not always been an endurance athlete, during the initial lock down of 2020 they began walking everyday and soon that turned into running. Their introduction to fitness as a young teen was in the weight room when their father, a retired power lifter, started teaching them how to workout. Over that years Bailey has explored many different avenues of fitness including team sports like basketball and rugby, Olympic lifting, paddle boarding, hiking, yoga, skiing, and swimming.
Outside of fitness, Bailey has always been a lover of the arts. They are fascinated with the concept of using the body as a canvas, frequently making jewelry, clothing, hats, and other accessories. Technical theater is also one of Bailey’s long time passions, they volunteer with local production companies to help build and paint sets for upcoming productions a few times a year.
